Damping load cells are advanced force measurement sensors specifically engineered for applications that require accurate and stable readings in dynamic environments. Their key feature lies in their built-in fluid damping mechanism, which effectively minimises oscillations and mechanical vibrations, delivering high-precision force readings even under fluctuating load conditions.
How it Works
Principle
Bending beam load cells operate on the concept of bending stress. When force is applied to the free end of the beam (the load side), the material bends slightly.
Strain Gauges
These are bonded on the top and the bottom surfaces of the beam. As the beam bends, one side stretches while the other compresses, and the strain gauges measure this information.
Output
The strain is converted into an electrical signal proportional to the applied force.
